Electric Car sharing program

Fuel Choices

In order to promote and incentivize EVs and to reduce the number of car owners the Ministry of environmental protection (MoEP) together with the Fuel Choices and Smart Mobility Initiative has allocated NIS 12 million to local authorities for the initiation of car sharing schemes in city centers. Financial support is dependent on the assurance that the majority of the vehicles will be electric vehicles, for which designated parking and charging infrastructure will be made available. The project aims to provide government support for environment-friendly car sharing services that would promote new technologies for air pollution reduction in city centers. Due to this budget two municipalities in Israel has launched an electric car share: Netanya and Haifa.
